Before supplying a front-to-nape result, clarify what the retailer wants measured for the chosen wig. Do not assume that a label alone provides enough information to reproduce the required route.

Record the route as well as the result

Jon Renau’s named measuring example runs from the front hairline along the centre of the head to the nape hairline for its front-to-back measurement. Its stock-system instructions and chart belong to that manufacturer.

Record fieldWhat it prevents
Start landmark and end landmarkAn unexplained number taken from different points.
Route over the head and unitComparing measurements produced by incompatible methods.
Product and manufacturer instructionTreating one company’s chart as a universal fit standard.

For a Luxeline order, confirm the requested method before using this example. The example makes the question concrete; it does not establish a Luxeline cap size or tell you to choose a particular size.

Get the instruction first

Identify the product, construction and purpose of the measurement. Ask which starting and ending landmarks and path are required. Keep the instruction or diagram with the result. A value copied from a previous product’s fit record may not answer the new enquiry if the method or purpose is different.

Explain uncertainty immediately

If you cannot identify a landmark confidently, ask before sending a definitive number. Do not change the route to obtain a value that appears to fit a chart. The retailer or fitter needs the actual measurement context, including any difficulty following the instruction.

Connect the result with confirmation

Send a labelled value and unit, then ask how it affects the product choice or optional request. Keep any accepted specification separate from the number you submitted. This is especially important where the listing says requests require confirmation. A completed measurement form is not proof that the item has been customised.

A practical detail to record

A useful record names both the measurement and the product it was requested for. If you later consider another construction, ask whether the same method applies. Do not silently reuse a value whose original purpose or route you cannot explain.

Decision checklist

  • Correct product and measurement purpose.
  • Confirmed route, unit and landmarks.
  • Submission and acceptance recorded separately.
