Wig lengths are measured from root to tip on a straight strand, so a 20″ wig on a body wave will appear shorter than 20″ because the wave reduces the visible length. Here’s a guide to help you visualise what each length looks like when worn.
Short Lengths (8″–14″)
- 8″–10″: Sits around the chin. Great for a sharp bob or textured pixie look.
- 12″–14″: Falls between chin and shoulder. The sweet spot for an effortless everyday style.
Mid Lengths (16″–22″)
- 16″–18″: Grazes the shoulder. Classic, versatile, suits every face shape.
- 20″–22″: Hits mid-chest. Our most popular length, with room to style without feeling overwhelming.
Long Lengths (24″–32″)
- 24″–26″: Below the chest. Dramatic and beautiful for straight and body wave textures.
- 28″–32″: Approaches the waist. Full glamour, especially with a straighter texture so the length reads clearly.
Extra Long (34″–50″)
These lengths are statement pieces. At 40″ and above, the hair grazes the hip. Deep wave and water wave textures at this length are stunning but require more maintenance to keep tangle-free. We recommend the 200% density at extra-long lengths for the most natural look.
A Note on Density
Density refers to how full the wig is. Available densities vary by product; check the individual product page for its options.
- 200%: Natural, realistic fullness. The right choice for most lengths and textures.
- 250%: Extra volume. Especially impactful on shorter lengths (8″–18″) where the added density really shows.
If in doubt, 20″ at 200% is our most universally flattering combination and a great starting point.
